Non- Conformist

One year for Christmas, when I was quite a bit younger, I decided that I wanted a scooter. I thought that it would be perfect for me to ride when I was going to my Grandparent's house, which lived just down the driveway. It was going to be so cool. But as Christmas began to approach the scooter became the "new" hot item on the market. All the kids at school were asking for it as well. As soon as I found out that it was the popular item, and that the majority of the kids in my class were going to be receiving it for Christmas, I quickly told my Mom never mind on the scooter. It was too popular for me.

Years later I found out that my Mom had bought it many months prior to Christmas and she had to search for a new gift to give me. It was soon after this that my parents began to refer to me as the, "non-conformist."

I do not like to be grouped in with the crowd, and I enjoy being the one at work that no one can figure out. I am independent, opinionated, and complicated. Now I try to live up to the non- conformist title, just to keep everyone on their toes.
