Creately
This weeks project for me was so frustrating! I really did not enjoy this assignment at all. First of all the program was not easy to use. I watched a demo stating how it was handy and the benefits of using Creately. But it was NOT as simple as it stated. I got half way through and realized that I could not save my work, because I had not signed in. Once signing in, I then had to re-do what I had already started. Then it took me a very long time to figure out how to post it on my blog. Then I had to reformat it because it was too big. Then I had to edit and refigure it again. It was so frustrating!!! Previous assignments have been easy to work with and simple to understand, this was not. I'm not sure how I would be able to incorporate this into my teaching style. I could see it possibly being helpful in a business or college situation but for English, I don't believe that I would use it. This was the only site that I used so maybe the other sites would be simpler or easier to follow. But I would not recommend this for others use.

PhotoShow
This week our emerging technology was posting a photo album to my blog. Once again, I was suprised how easy it was to use PhotoShow. I first created an account, then I uploaded my pictures. After uploading all the pictures, 25 or less for free, it then allows you to edit, rotate, or correct each picture. Then it gives you the option to add music. After your photo show is ready, save. Then it had a section where you can post your PhotoShow to facebook, your email, or a blog. Click on that butten, I clicked the post to blogger link, signed in, and it automatcially posted for me. Simple as ABC!

My Podcasting Adventure
Podcasting is a creative way to post communication orally rather than simply written. Users speak into a microphone, and can then later post their podcast onto facebook, twitter, a blog, and many other creative options. I chose to use the website cinch. This was very easy to use. To begin I simple called the number on the website. When I called it was almost like I was leaving a message. Then I went on the website, put in my number and listened to the podcast I had left nearly moments ago. After finding the podcast online, and setting up an account through facebook, I sent an email to one of the technicians. She speedily replied to me how I could post on blogger. I simply went to the top of the cinch page, and clicked on widgets. It took me step by step through the process. It was very easy to navigate through. Cinch was an easy website to use, since I did not have microphone for my computer. Below is my podcast. The pictures below will help you as I take you through some of the painting of Francisco Franco.

New Blogger
I am a newbie when it comes to the blogging world. I have only followed one other blogger and quite frankly had no idea how to even start one. But blogger.com really made it convenient and easy! The steps were easy to follow and quick to use. I've been curious about blogging, but wasn't ever sure I would actually use it. But because this class requires its use, I believe I will find enjoyment from blogging. I also hope to use it in the future, to write reviews for the books that I am reading. It is always nice to share and hear what others are reading.
My advice to others is simple: just try it. This site makes it so easy, that even I can do it! Follow the steps, and don't be afraid to look around and click on buttons. The only real way to learn is to get your hands dirty.
The easiest way to upload pictures I've found is to go to the design tab. Then click on add gadget. You can add a picture anywhere this icon is available. Plus when you click on the gadget icon it also allows you to add videos, links, slide show, and many other various options. Have fun!

Non- Conformist
One year for Christmas, when I was quite a bit younger, I decided that I wanted a scooter. I thought that it would be perfect for me to ride when I was going to my Grandparent's house, which lived just down the driveway. It was going to be so cool. But as Christmas began to approach the scooter became the "new" hot item on the market. All the kids at school were asking for it as well. As soon as I found out that it was the popular item, and that the majority of the kids in my class were going to be receiving it for Christmas, I quickly told my Mom never mind on the scooter. It was too popular for me.
Years later I found out that my Mom had bought it many months prior to Christmas and she had to search for a new gift to give me. It was soon after this that my parents began to refer to me as the, "non-conformist."
I do not like to be grouped in with the crowd, and I enjoy being the one at work that no one can figure out. I am independent, opinionated, and complicated. Now I try to live up to the non- conformist title, just to keep everyone on their toes.
Snippets About Me
Hello!
My name is Cassie Atwell. This is my second semester at IUPUI after transfering from Purdue. So far I love IUPUI and have had really great professors. My major is English Education and I love it! When I attended Purdue, I studied Health Sciences in hopes of eventually becoming a Physical Therapist, but quickly realized my true passions lied else where.
I love literature, especially British. One of the classes I am in this semester focuses on domesticity through literary working of 19th century female authors. The class' content fascinates me, especially when comparing the female characters of those books, with women today.
I'm also currently enrolled in an editing class, which I suprisingly really enjoy. I would love this summer to work parttime as an editor for the newspaper in my town.
I work as a server at O'Charley's and volunteer as a tutor at two schools near my house. When I am not at school, working, or reading, much of my time is spent riding my horse.
I own two mares (female horses). Katie, who is retired at twenty-four years old and serves as a baby sitter for Evie, who is six. I have owned Evie for two years where I found her in Kentucky, where she had currently been racing. Now I compete her in Eventing. (Check out my power point to find out what Eventing consists of.) For me riding releases my stress and has been part of my life for about ten years. It is so much more than a hobby for me, it is a passion.
